The HP8640B is one of the finest RF Signal Generators ever made. It has a digital frequency-counter readout; while having at heart a very high-Q Cavity Oscillator. Even today it's one of the lowest phase-noise RF Generators you can get. This picture shows my own HP8640B sitting on the Wavetek 50mhz Synthesizer before we packed them up. As you can see, the front panel and controls are in good condition...

These generators were available with several "Options"; the most desirable of which are Options 1, 2, and 3....
Option 001 - 20 to 600 kHz Internal Audio Oscillator in Modulation section
Option 002 - Internal Doubler extends output from 512 to 1024 MHz
Option 003 - Reverse power protection to protect the output-amp
I had two of these generators; but sold one in 2003 when I moved and packed. One of them had all 3 of these Options; and the other did not have the 'doubler'. Unfortunately, I cannot recall which one I still have!...LOL.
It will be another week or two before we have enough gear sold to get at the 8640 where it's stored in the trailer. In the meantime...
If it's the 3-option 1024 Mhz unit, then I'd like to get $490 obo for it.
If it's the 512 Mhz one, then I'll ask $390 for it instead.
Both generators were in my shop and in use before we packed it all up to move. I cannot warranty condition; but I have no reason to believe it's not still putting out signal like it did before being packed.
